Art Club

Over the past few years, the art department at Howland High School has performed duties beyond classroom instruction. We have used valuable class time and prep time to complete requests and projects from teachers and the administration within the district. We have even dedicated time and effort to complete projects for the community both during and after school helping to improve the positive relationship between Howland Township and Howland Schools. Below is a list of projects that the art department has completed for the district or the community. These are just some of the activities an art club would participate in should one exist at the high school.

Repaint Tiger Town Plywood Cut-Outs
Murals Based on Teacher
Homecoming Backdrop
Logos and T-shirt Designs for Clubs,
Organizations and Athletics
Dinner Theater
Playbills for School Programs
Rain Barrels for Community Recycling
Matting Artwork forTeachers
Prom Posters
Decorating Display Cases
Relay for Life
Drama/Theater Props
Studio Backdrop for Walgreens
Presentation Checks for Interact
Signs for Athletic Department
Wood Painted Signs for Animal Welfare League
Murals for Howland Fire Dept.

There are numerous opportunities the art department would like to participate in around our community that would promote the arts in our youth. As a club, not only will we travel to local art museums, and continue to promote our skills, but fundraise for opportunities to expand our knowledge of the arts. Funds from the art club will also be vital to purchase equipment and materials that will allow us to continue our efforts to meet the needs of the many organizations and departments in our district. We, like other subjects in this school, have students who are interested in giving their time and talents above and beyond the classroom setting. An art club would provide an opportunity for students to gather, discuss, promote, volunteer and demonstrate their talents, to not only our school, but community as well.

Respectfully Yours,
Howland High School Art Department
