Tigers News · Howland’s Shooting Too Much For Fitch

The Howland Tigers put together an outstanding performance as they pulled away for a 63-42 road win against the Austintown Fitch Falcons.

The Falcons started the second quarter scoring five unanswered points to take the lead 15-13. That’s when Howland stepped on the gas and went on an 18-2 run. The Tigers put up 28 points in the second quarter compared to Austintown’s 12.

Jonah Weisman led the Tigers (13-5, 8-3 All-American Conference Red Tier) in scoring Friday with 13 points. Frankie Manios was second with 11 points, all of which came in the second quarter. The Tigers had 10 players netting at least 1 point on the night. Senior Samari Dean put up 10 points on the night, nine from behind the arc.

The Tournament draw is this weekend and Howland is expected to be a two or three seed in the D2 District.
