Howland Tiger softball traveled to YSU to take on Ursuline today in tournament play. The Irish came out and took an early lead but the Tigers never gave up.Ursuline continues their tournament play with a win of the Tigers tonight 12-2, but it didn’t come easy. Howland played strong defense and kept the Irish from extended innings. The Lady Tigers made things interesting by loading the bases with only 1 out. Bailee Beasom lead the offense going 3 for 3 with 3 singles. Emily O’Connell went 2 for 3 with 2 singles as well as reaching on an error. Seniors Emily Darlington, who smacked a double off the left center field fence, and Marissa Jerina topping things off with a single were great leaders on both the sides of the game. The Lady Tiger softball team still has a game and a half to play against Lakeside to finish out the season, on Friday May 10, at home which will also be senior night.
