HMS Girls’ and Boys’ Cross Country Win Suburban League Championship

The Howland Middle School Girls Cross Country team won the Suburban League Championship Meet Wed. at Canfield.  8th grader Megan Hipple won the race!  Roxxi Ottum finished 8th, Anna Vrabel was 12th, McKenzie Maiorano 27th, Leah Mickel 30th, Mia Walters 44th and Cami Thornhill finished 46th. Girls Golf Falls to Canfield

The girls lost a tough match to Canfield by a score of 197 to 206.  The loss drops the teams record to 9-4 (4-2).  Earning medalist honors was Madison Schaefer with a 46.  She was followed by Emily Darlington with a 51, Allie Mijavec, 54 and Megan Brown, 55.  The teams next match is Monday at Lakeview.

Behind Gebhardt, Girls Soccer Downs Fitch

Howland Girls Varsity beat Austintown 2-1. Jenna Gebhardt had 2 goals. Assist were by Katrina  Altawil and Gianna Merlo. Elizabeth Rusnak had 4 saves and Gillian McMurray had 4 saves. The Howland High School Girls Cross Country team won the Suburban League Championship Meet Wed. at Canfield.  Molly Yasnowski led the way for the Lady Tigers finishing in 7th place.  Jenna Craigo was 14th, Gabby Reuschling 17th, Elenie McNally 18th, Maria Dellimuti 20th, Kylie McClain 29th and Erika Amodio 33rd.

Girls Golf Improves to 4-1 in the AAC

The girls golf team squeaked by a well improved Boardman team by two strokes.  The victory improved the Tigers record to 9-3 (4-1) on the season.  Leading the team was Madison Schaefer shooting a 44.  She was closely followed by Emily Darlington with a 45, Lauren Miles, 56 and Allie Mijavec, 60.  The team travels
