HMS Football Falls to Poland

Thursday, September 13, 2018 The HMS football team lost to a very talented Poland team on Thursday.  The final score was 36-6.  The team was also honored by a sideline visit from Howland alum, DeVeon Smith.  The Tigers’ next game is Thursday, September 20th @ 5:00 at Hubbard High School. HMS Football Falls to Boardman

Thursday, August 30, 2018 Both the A and B HMS Football teams lost to Boardman. The A game started on Wednesday, but was postponed in the second quarter due to a torrential downpour.  The game resumed on a beautiful Thursday afternoon.  Unfortunately, the Tigers were unable to sustain drives and consistently get stops on defense. 

HMS Football Beats Lakeview

The Howland Tigers Middle School Football Team won both the A and B games versus Lakeview on Thursday.  The Tigers won the A game 30-0.  Scoring for the Tigers were Nick Leasure with 3 TD’s, and Marco Massucci adding another. The offensive line, led by Merlo and Baugher, helped both Massucci and Leasure lead the Tigers

Howland Football Players Receive All-Ohio Honors

The honors keep stacking up for seniors Michael Schwartz and Brandon Matlock.  Recently the OHSAA released the All-Ohio Honors and both Michael and Brandon made the list. Michael Schwartz was honored as All-Ohio First Team as a Punter and Brandon Matlock received Honorable Mention as a Lineman.   Congratulations to these scholar athletes for representing Howland High

AAC Red Tier Honors Howland Players

The honors for the All American Red Tier Conference were recently announced and several of our players received honors.  Recipients of AAC awards were First Team Offense– Noah Bell OL and Jackson Deemer RB First Team Defense– Samari Dean DB, Chris Julian LB and Brandon Matlock DL.  First Team Specialist was awarded to Michael Schwartz K/P. 

Howland Football Players Receive Inland District Honors

The 2017 Northeast Ohio Inland District honors were awarded this week and five Howland Football Players received honorable distinctions.   Honorees for First Team were Brandon Matlock, Offense and Michael Schwartz, Punter.  Second Team honors go out to Jackson Deemer, Back and Chris Julian, Defense.  Receiving Honorable Mention was Samari Dean, Offense.  Congratulations men for representing
